Xi'an Incident

Synopsis: The Xi'an Incident in 1936 is one of the most mythic, mysterious moments in Chinese history. Domineering Nationalist generalissimo Chiang Kai-shek (Jin Ange) is overthrown by two of his own generals, who oppose his decision to continue fighting the Chinese Communists. They want the Nationalists and Communists to band together, unified against a common enemy: invading Japanese forces. This sober, Communist party-approved three-hour historical epic attempts to separate facts from legend.
